Finke Wool Slippers
These amazing felt finke slippers or house-shoes are the perfect option to keep your feet and toes perfectly comfy. 100% natural and breathable wool is ideal for your feet and the environment. Natural wool will ensure your feet do not sweat but stay comfortable in any temperature, regulating temperature and holding moisture away from your feet. With socks or barefoot the wool feels soft and comfortable on your feet.
Finke is the Swiss-German word we use for slippers or house-shoes. My parents immigrated from Switzerland to Canada and brought along many Swiss traditions and heritage, finke being one. We always appreciated warm feet in our old farmhouse growing up and now I always wear something on my feet in the house. Being a Swiss-Canadian I have always valued quality and craftsmanship ... I carry this forward with Revolution Wool Company and the products we produce; local, quality made and natural.
The upper layer is made with a wet felted process for ideal longevity, durability and flexibility. The mid-layer is needle felted wool, sourced from our very own family farm and local farm partners in Ontario Canada. Our durable Ontario wool mid-layer offers durable cushion and comfort for your feet. Down breeds like our Dorset and Rideau-Arcott on our family farm produce soft yet strong lofty wool ideal for hard wearing items like footwear. The soles are made with a non-marking rubber and can withstand moisture and is grippy material. Although our slippers are not designed for outdoor wear that quick trip to the deck or garage or out to get the mail is ok.
Quality stitching and detail add durability to the hard wearing points.
Wool is the smartest choice for sustainable and ethical footwear. Not only good for your body but great for the environment. Wool is natural, renewable and biodegradable. Not only are our amazing slippers made with wool they are also crafted right here in Canada!

Slipper Care:
Wool is naturally self-cleaning and odour resisting. Regular airing and sunshine helps keep your slippers fresh.
If any stains or soiling occur spot treat with a wet cloth and gentle wool specific soap like Eucalan. Leave them to dry before use again.
Slippers can be washed but is not recommended unless heavy soiling occurs. Wash in gentle or wool cycle with cold water with a wool specific soap.
You may notice some fibre shedding with initial use, this is normal as some wool fibres do not always get securely felted in. Simply vacuum or shake them outside to loosen off the fibres.
Sizing:
To start you want your wool slipper to feel snug. As you wear them they will stretch and mold to you feet. This natural stretching is also great for wide feet! The approximate measurement is taken from the heel to the big toe.
Example: I wear a small for size 8.5 wide feet while barefoot. A medium is more ideal if I wear socks or want more space for my toes.
